Log in to Onvio Client Center when your mobile device is not accessible

With multi-factor authentication, you use a mobile device with the Thomson Reuters Authenticator app or a TOTP-compliant third-party app to sign in to Client Center. If you forget or misplace your paired mobile device, you cannot access the mobile app to log in to Client Center on your own.

If that happens, use one of your own temporary access codes to log in. If you don't have temporary access codes available, contact your accountant, who can generate a temporary code that will enable you to log in for 24 hours.

After your accountant has provided you with a temporary code, follow these steps.

  1. On the Client Center login screen, enter your login information, then click the Sign In button.
  2. When prompted to check your device, click the Enter a Code link.
  3. Enter the code provided by your accountant and click Go.

Temporary codes expire 24 hours after they are generated.

While you have an active temporary code, disconnecting your paired mobile device does not automatically disable multi-factor authentication for your account. If you disconnected your mobile device after receiving a temporary code, you can still access Client Center using the following methods.

  • If your accountant made multi-factor authentication optional, access Client Center with the temporary code until it expires. This keeps the additional security of multi-factor authentication in place until you can register a new device. If you do not register a new device, multi-factor authentication is disabled once the temporary code expires.
  • If your accountant made multi-factor authentication required, access Client Center with the temporary code until you register a new device. After the temporary code expires, you will be required to register a new device before accessing Client Center, or obtain a new temporary code.
